Hello People,
Can you believe how fast this Fall season is going? Man, it is just whipping by. The past week has been low key for me. I was feeling run down and just as I am feeling better, I start cycle two of Xeloda tomorrow. 14 Day on and 7 days off. I'd like to update you on my Dr. appointment that I had today. All of my labs are within a good range. My tumor markers were a little on the high side a month ago, and they drew labs for that again today. But, it will be a week before I have those results. The doctor feels as though I am tolerating this drug well. I haven't got any of the worst of the side effects. The side effects that I have experienced ( tummy troubles, and vomiting ) are controllable with Imodium, and nausea meds. While there I had my port flushed. I was so happy that they were able to draw my blood work through my port instead of poking me in the arm. Yay! I also had my first xgeva shot that I've had in 10 weeks. It has left me feeling mildly achy and a bit blah. Overall, I am feeling pretty well. How are YOU feeling?
Here are some recent photos from our day trip to Sevierville, Tn. It was such a great day. There is so much fun stuff to do there. I am very hopeful that I will continue to do well on this medication so that my family and I can do more outings like this. Also here is a little picture of Sadie in case you miss seeing her here in the blogosphere.
Thank you so much for stopping by,
Leslie

Stupid internet games for breast cancer awareness.
Hello People,
I don't know if you have heard of this these game or not, but these games are out there. So,please, do me a favor. Do not participate in the underware or fruit game in order to bring awareness to breast cancer.
A. I believe everyone is pretty aware of breast cancer
B. I live with the knowledge that this horrible disease is going to be my end and it is not a game for me, it's real life
And finally
C. Lets give to responsible researchers to find a cure for all cancers.
If you can not give to research, consider donating blood, or bone marrow for stem cell treatments or to help other illnesses. Or you could volunteer to help people to ill to help themselves.
I should have added a D. These two stupid games are directed only towards women and men get breast cancer too. Where is the awareness about THAT?
I just found our about these dumb games. It really ticked me off. It makes me feel as though the world really isn't aware at all. Instead it is only pretending. How very sad.
On to other things. I want to let you know that day 5 of my chemo with xeloda is going well. I am tired and I have my little bit of pain and some weird tingling in my hands. I am not hungry, But I am not nauseated. Which is just awesome in my opinion.
That is it from here.
Hope it is all well where you are.

Mail order Pharmacy update.
Well hello People,
I told you I would give you a video blog update when I received my chemo. Which was supposed to be by today. (Wednesday) But it didn't come! I called my doctors office yesterday and left a specific message. They called me back today and said I should have heard from the pharmacy by now. Which sort of goes against what they told me on Friday. They had said I was all set up and would have my chemo by Wednesday. At any rate, I heard from the pharmacy today. I got the impression that they had gotten into some trouble. They are over nighting me the chemo and I am supposed to get it tomorrow morning. Once I get it I will film a video to let you know what it looks like and how it makes me feel and stuff like that. This has been seriously frustrating! But as soon as I can I'll share what is happening with the Xeloda.
Thanks for stopping by,
Leslie

Mail order Pharmacy mishaps.
Hello people,
Are you well today? I sure hope you all are doing okay. I would love to hear from you about how life is in your world. Things are crazy in my world. I am expecting to start Xeloda any time now. Last Monday is when I saw the oncologist. I was supposed to receive my mail order prescription of my chemo before the end of last week in order to start it by Friday. When I hadn't gotten it by Friday I called the oncologist and the orders had not be faxed properly to CVS mail order. Not that I am in a huge hurry to start having the effects of chemo again, but I am concerned that I have this tumor growing in my heart. It is growing so fast. Well anyway. after calling them on Friday the oncologist supposedly got everything squared away with the mail order pharmacy. At this point I don't know when the medicine will arrive. I gotta say that it is pretty frustrating to have to rely on other people to take care of stuff like this and have it not work as it is supposed to. I just hope and pray it comes soon. The past few weeks have been a comedy of errors. My Pet scan not being scheduled and me showing up with no appointment. Then having the second PET rescheduled as well as having my doctor appointment scheduled and cancelled. I am starting to wonder if I picked the wrong Oncologist office. Well people that is my little tale of woe! Hahahaha. I will post a video as soon as I have begun this new treatment and know how I am doing with it.
Thanks for stopping by and reading this blog/vlog. I reached 100 people viewing last Saturday. Small number in the grand scheme of things the blogosphere. But it is amazing to me that that many people would come and read this blog. So thank you all so very much.

My crazy heart and other test results
Hello people,
Are you enjoying the beautiful Fall weather where you are? It is just amazingly beautiful here in Knoxville today. I feel pretty good. I've got information to share with you all about my recent test results. Also what the action plan my oncology team has put together for me to follow. After being on Taxol/Avastin for 2 1/2 years, I have some changes in my treatment happening. I am glad to say goodbye to the side effects that this treatment has been causing me in recent months. I am very hopeful that I won't experience the side effects of the new drug plan or at least not the worst of them. I will start taking this treatment as soon as the mail order pharmacy delivers it to me. I will keep you posted on how I feel as I go through this new treatment. I'm pretty excited to not have to go to the chemo lab to receive treatment. That gives me back a bit of time lost in my life. As you can imagine time is something I highly prize. So, you will find my video update below. I will post again next week to let you know how it all goes!
